The Citi Rewards Card: A Review

This was my first Citi card. I was thrilled when I saw the word "Platinum" under the Visa logo.

What is it?
This is a card for spenders and I mean BIG spenders. It rewards you with one point for every PhP30.00 spent which is multiplied three times (or "3x") for shopping, Cebu Pacific plane tickets, and dining. This card is not just a Visa. It's Visa Platinum. 😊

What does it do?
The Citi Rewards Card accumulates points which can be used in several ways. Citi's rewards program is quite flexible and the way you spend points can be adjusted to your particular taste and lifestyle. It is also important to note that because this is a Citi card, all your Citi cards will share one single credit limit. 😐

How was the experience?
The most notable experience with this card was using the Visa concierge service. Visa offers concierge services for Platinum, Signature, and Infinite tier cards. I highly recommend this card (if you want to spend a lot) not only for the rewards, but for the perks that come with it like the Visa concierge service. To speak honestly, they can do [almost] anything. When I could not find a way to contact the Acer repair center for my broken Acer LCD projector because the internet was flooded with conflicting and even outdated information, the concierge sent the contact details to me and I was able to get a quotation for the repair very swiftly. Most of the time, the concierge service replies to your request (which can be made over the phone, through email, or by using their web browser wizard) within 24 hours. The requests I made included restaurant reservations, flight booking, and searching for particular products I needed like a repair service for my S.T. Dupont wallet which suffered from a torn side. The only thing I didn't like was that Citi did not have a toll-free number. I needed to call long distance for all my transactions and inquiries. Don't worry about the Visa concierge service though, they have a toll-free telephone number. 😄

Requirements? Awards?
To get this card, (according to Citi's website) an annual income of PhP180000 if you already have an active credit card or PhP250000 if you don't will be needed along with the usual proofs of billing, identity, and income. As for awards, like previously said, they are quite diverse from merchandise like bags and clothes to jewelry and watches to points that can pay for your bills and points for travel companies. These are good choices since they include the brands like Oakley, Casio, Victorinox, Bose, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Michael Kors, and Tommy Hilfiger. Since I like to travel though, I use my points by converting them to travel points. Citi has partnerships with several travel companies including Cebu Pacific's Get Go, Asia Miles, Philippine Airlines' Mabuhay Miles, and Singapore Airlines' Krisflyer. The points ratios are mostly 3 Citi points: 1 travel group point except for Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles which has a 3.25:1 ratio and Eva Air Mileagelands which has a ratio of 5:1.If you like to travel cheap, use Get Go or Mabuhay Miles. If you like first class, use Asia Miles. They reward you with even more points for travelling premium. 😊

How do I get one?
I do not know any Citibank branches, so if you want this, you can apply through the marketing agents who appear in public places like malls regularly or online. If you want to try online, I recommend:
https://www.moneymax.ph/
https://www.imoney.ph/
https://www.ecomparemo.com/credit-card
*They DO work, and applying was actually quite easy

Next Review?
Maybe my Citi Premier Miles or Citi Simplicity. Help me choose which and tell me your choice in the comments.
